This is the first post in TYM’s How To Prewire series. This series was created to provide information on the latest technology and practices so that you prewire your own home—with all the bells and whistles—yourself. You can do it—we can help.

Oh, The Places We’ve Been
We’ve been at it for 5 years now. We’ve wired up Manufacturing warehouses, Restaurants, Medical Office space, large custom homes, and production homes. I’m still not sure why, but we did a ridiculous number of retrofits in Texas of all places. Those were some hot summer days in attics.
Through all this experience, we’ve tried and tested all the tricks and methods for wiring up homes, and we’re happy to share them with you for your own project.

It’s when we started doing these show homes that people started contacting us and asking us to help them design their prewire plans for them. It’s been a lot of fun for us.
People get so excited about the Smart Homes they’re creating for themselves, and getting to have a role in that, and watching people light up the first time they’re Smart Home and Audio fire up is the most rewarding part of the whole deal.
So remember, if you’re outside of one of our main markets, make sure you send us photos of your projects and adventures so we can add them to our portfolio. We wish we could always be there, but we at least want to see your projects.
